HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Description

High Blood Pressure, also known as hypertension, occurs when the force of blood against the walls of the arteries is consistently elevated, placing extra strain on the heart and blood vessels. Often referred to as a "silent killer," hypertension typically presents no symptoms until serious complications arise. However, in some cases, individuals may experience symptoms like headaches, shortness of breath, dizziness, rapid pulse, or excessive sweating. Hypertension is a significant risk factor for heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, and kidney damage. Common contributors to high blood pressure include a diet high in salt, lack of physical activity, stress, and excessive alcohol consumption. Managing hypertension requires adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle, including regular physical activity, reducing salt intake, managing stress, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol use. Regular blood pressure monitoring is essential for early detection and control, helping to prevent life-threatening complications.
