MARJORAM
Description
Marjoram essential oil, also known as Sweet Marjoram essential oil and derived from the Origanum majorana plant, comes from a bushy perennial shrub native to the Mediterranean region and Turkey. This plant features fragrant green leaves and white to pale pink flowers, reaching a height of 1–2 feet [30–60 cm]. Sweet Marjoram is commonly used both fresh and dried in cooking, serving as a versatile seasoning for soups, sauces, salads, stuffings, stews, roasts, vegetables, and meats. The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves, capturing its warm, herbaceous aroma. Renowned for its calming and soothing properties, Sweet Marjoram essential oil is valued in aromatherapy for its ability to promote relaxation and alleviate stress. Its rich, comforting scent also makes it a popular choice in personal care products and natural remedies.
