Description
Lime essential oil, derived from the peel of the lime tree (Citrus aurantifolia), is known for its zesty and refreshing aroma. The lime tree is an evergreen that slightly resembles a shrub, thriving in subtropical and tropical regions worldwide. It can reach a height of 16 feet [5 m] and features thorns, green leaves, white flowers, and produces green fruit. The essential oil is cold-pressed from the peel of the lime fruit, preserving its vibrant citrus scent. In Asian cuisine, the leaves of the lime tree are used as a seasoning in various dishes and occasionally brewed into tea for its aromatic qualities. Lime essential oil is also celebrated for its mood-lifting properties, making it a popular choice for diffusing in homes and workplaces. Beyond its aromatic benefits, it is valued in skincare for its potential to refresh and revitalize the skin. Its versatility extends to use in cleaning products due to its natural disinfecting properties.
