Swami Rama (1925–1996) was an Indian yoga guru and founder of the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, renowned for demonstrating yogic control over physiological functions. Rudolph Ballentine (MD) is a respected physician and psychiatrist specializing in alternative medicine, with expertise in Ayurveda and homeopathy. Alan Hymes (MD), a cardiovascular surgeon, contributed his medical insights. Together, they authored "Science of Breath" in 1979, exploring the physical and spiritual aspects of breathing.
